We’ll kick the evening off at 5:30 with Nathan Stanley, Jerry Salley will entertain you with stories of his songs and more beginning at 6:30, 2 time IBMA Entertainers of the year The Gibson Brothers will heat it up at 7:30 and then Grammy winners The Steep Canyon Rangers will close the evening out at 8:30! Several crafters from around Southern Ohio will be on hand through the evening and snacks and drinks will be available all night. Doors open at 5pm.

The Steep Canyon Rangers With OUT IN THE OPEN, Steep Canyon Rangers affirm their place as one of the most versatile bands in contemporary American music. The GRAMMY® Award-winning sextet has spent nearly two decades bending and shaping the bluegrass aesthetic, wedding it to elements of pop, country, and folk rock to create something original. OUT IN THE OPEN is the Rangers bravest excursion thus far, transcending bluegrass while also getting closest to the genre’s true form thanks to 3x GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Joe Henry’s traditional approach toward recording. Since Steep Canyon Rangers came together in 2000, they have developed a remarkable catalogue of original music that links them to the past while also demonstrating their ambitious intent to bring string-based music into contemporary relevance. Steep Canyon Rangers are easily among the hardest working bands in any genre, pulling double duty on their own and as collaborators with Steve Martin (Mr. Martin will not be traveling with the Rangers this summer).

The Gibson Brothers Bluegrass royalty Leigh and Eric Gibson step into what some might at first see as uncharted territory on their country-soul breakout Mockingbird, the new album produced by Grammy Award winners Dan Auerbach and Fergie Ferguson. The celebrated bluegrass duo — named back-to-back Entertainers of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association in 2012 and 2013 — played the Nashville game two decades ago, while in their early 20s, and were offered a major label deal, only to be told at the last minute that they were too “retro” for modern country music. Today, such characterizations, along with their authenticity, set them apart and describes the marvelous Mockingbird. A mix of country, soul and seventies rock, the album further cements the sibling duo as musical trailblazers. As players and vocalists, they are superb, harmonizing as only siblings can; as songwriters they stand without peer, having long been a band awarded for their songs and songwriting. The 11 tracks on Mockingbird, their 14th album, draw on much of the brothers’ experiences being raised on the family farm in Northern New York. As Northerners growing up in a Southern business, they had to work twice as hard as the bands from the South to achieve the success they had, and were the first from that far north to carve a path to IBMA Entertainers of the Year.

Nathan Stanley As the grandson of the Bluegrass music icon Dr. Ralph Stanley, Nathan made his music debut at the young age of 2 on stage with his Grandfather at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, playing the spoons for the Clinch Mountain Boys. He later graduated to playing the mandolin, and in 2007 became the lead singer and rhythm guitar player for the Clinch Mountain Boys, who was one of the most highly acclaimed bands in the music industry. To rewind his life and look back in time his history is simple, an entertainer on a mission! He’s an original. Nathan Stanley refuses to be a carbon copy. Nathan would say “If it’s been done, I don’t think I’ll do it that way”. His musical influences include Dr. Ralph Stanley, Elvis Presley, George Jones and others. In 2006, he had the great honor to perform for the Queen of England when Her Majesty visited the state of Virginia. He had a #1 song on the Inspirational Country Music (ICM) charts in 2011 with Vince Gill on the unforgettable “White Dove.” The National Traditional Country Music Association voted “My Kind Of Country” the “Classic Country Album of the Year” in 2011. In October 2014, his album Every Mile garnered Nathan his first GMA Dove Award nomination and win for “Bluegrass Album of the year”. Also, In 2016 Nathan was voted “Best Bluegrass Artist” at the ICM AWARDS in Nashville, TN.

Jerry Salley has had an incredibly successful, multi-award winning songwriting career. The 2003 SESAC Country Music Songwriter of the Year, Salley has had over 500 different songs recorded and his songs have sold in excess of 17 million records worldwide. Writing and singing in Nashville since 1982, he has written multiple hits in country, bluegrass, and gospel music and may well be the most successful songwriter to have earned equal recognition from all three genres of music.

Born in the small southern Ohio town of Chillicothe, he signed with Performing Rights Organization SESAC at eighteen years old. After earning a degree from Ohio University in 1982, Salley moved to Nashville and landed a job in the Country Music USA cast at Opryland theme park, a job that would become a springboard for what was to come. In the bluegrass genre, Jerry is a two-time IBMA Songwriter Of The Year nominee and has had hundreds of songs, including numerous chart-toppers, recorded. He was thrilled to have co-written three songs on The SteelDrivers Grammy award winning album, The Muscle Shoals Recordings (“A Long Way Down”, “The River Runs Red”, “6 Feet Away”), and a song on the Del McCoury Band Grammy winning album The Streets Of Baltimore (“The Butler Brothers”). Other bluegrass groups who have recorded Jerry’s songs include The Osborne Brothers, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Rhonda Vincent, Lonesome River Band, Balsam Range, Dale Ann Bradley, Seldom Scene, Flatt Lonesome, IIIrd Tyme Out, Larry Stevenson, Donna Ulisse, Irene Kelley and many others. Salley is a multiple IBMA Song Of The Year nominee, and his song “All Dressed Up”, recorded by Joe Mullins and The Radio Ramblers, won the IBMA Gospel Recorded Song Of The Year award in 2016. Jerry will be performing solo and telling the stories of some of your favorite Bluegrass songs that he wrote!

The Terrace features a buffet dinner of wholesome American food. No one will walk away Hungry! The menu includes Martha Kenton’s Famous Fried Chicken, baked ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, corn, salad bar, bakery rolls, dessert includes baked apple streusel and chocolate pudding, coffee, iced tea and soft drinks.
